Progressive Agriculture Foundation® Accepting Applications for 2022 Safety Days

New, returning interested individuals should apply online before July 15.

Birmingham, Alabama – The Progressive Agriculture Foundation® announced that interested new and returning individuals, organizations, and companies can apply to host a Progressive Agriculture Safety Day® during the 2022 calendar year.

“Sadly, it is estimated that about every three days a child dies in an agriculture-related incident,” said Brian Kuhl, president and chief executive officer of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation. “Applying to host a Safety Day is the first step in helping to lower that staggering statistic and make farm, ranch, and rural life safer and healthier for local youth in your community.”

The application period is now open and will last through July 15, 2021, to be considered for the 2022 calendar year. The electronic application is available at www.progressiveag.org and can be accessed by clicking “Apply Today.” To request assistance completing an application, individuals should call 888.257.3529 or email safetyday@progressiveag.org.

Once applications are reviewed, all applicants will receive notification of their approval status by early fall 2021. Within the communication, individuals serving as a lead coordinator for an approved Safety Day will also receive details on how to access the required online training for them and an assistant coordinator.

Upon application approval and when registering for the online training, an annual fee will be collected for a lead coordinator, as well as an assistant coordinator, if applicable. The training will be fully online and can be completed at the individual’s own pace. In addition to the required at-your-own pace training, optional lunch and learn booster sessions will be offered exclusively for Safety Day coordinators at no additional charge. During each booster session, knowledgeable panelists will share their expertise on various topics to help coordinators succeed as safety leaders in their local community.

For nearly 30 years, the Foundation’s Safety Day program has provided a fun, hands-on learning experience for youth through age-appropriate lessons. Each year nearly 400 Progressive Agriculture Safety Days, reaching more than 100,000 individuals, are held throughout the United States and Canada.
